Welcome to my Journey Map
This journey map is a reflection on my time at Ateneo de Davao University, the places I spent most of my days, the experiences that shaped me, and the people who made everything meaningful. More than academics, my Ateneo years taught me how to communicate with purpose, grow with kindness, and appreciate the people around me. This is a look into how those everyday moments slowly shaped who I am today.

RACHEL FRANKEN
AB Communication Student
I’m passionate about fashion, beauty, lifestyle, and marketing, and I enjoy creating ideas that feel thoughtful but still fun. I’m especially interested in branding and storytelling that feels human and relatable. My time at Ateneo helped me realize that communication isn’t just about being creative, but it’s about being intentional, kind, and aware of the people you’re creating for.

Places
The classroom and the cafeteria were the spaces that shaped me the most.
The classroom pushed me to think deeper, speak up, and improve how I communicate my ideas. The cafeteria, on the other hand, was where real conversations happened laughing with friends, ranting about deadlines, and taking a breather in between everything. Both spaces became part of my everyday rhythm in Ateneo.
Event & Activities
One of the most memorable experiences for me was the Integrated Marketing Communications (IMC) event, where we proposed our own branding ideas. It felt rewarding to finally apply what we learned and see how strategy and creativity work together. It also confirmed my interest in marketing and branding, especially in creating concepts that feel intentional and relevant.

Ignatian Values
The value that stood out to me most was Cura Personalis, or caring for the whole person. It reminded me to be more understanding of my classmates, my teammates, and even myself. This mindset helped me work better with others and approach situations with more patience and empathy.
Moments of Becoming
Choosing kindness, even on stressful days, and realizing how much it affects others.
Becoming more comfortable speaking up and sharing my ideas.
Learning to listen better and understand different perspectives.
Letting go of the need to be perfect and allowing myself to grow.
Appreciating the people around me instead of taking them for granted.
Becoming more aware of who I am and who I want to be moving forward.
People of Gratitude
I’m grateful for the people who made my Ateneo journey meaningful. My friends, mentors, and classmates. They supported me, challenged me, and made the whole experience lighter and more enjoyable. Being surrounded by the right people taught me the importance of gratitude and community.
